My Story
I am very excited to have time to offer music production to the public. In the past, I have been keeping up with the most current DAW software (Logic Pro, Protools, etc.) while working on my music. Music production is fundamentally the high-tech part of the music industry, so many musicians are stuck with this love/hate relationship with their life’s work unless they are a geek/musician. Most of the DAWs run software that has CAD-like properties, but I am skilled with CAD. I have a small local studio, and I like it that way; I want what I deliver to be impressive, not the size of my studio. Abby Road does not have to worry about competing with me. I want to help local musicians do something with their talent. Since I started this Bio by saying I am opening my studio. Here is a quick summary of what I have been doing. Until now, manufacturing apparel has been my day job at www.jandmmfg.com. I mentioned CAD; well, CAD is a must in Screen Printing and embroidery, which I do. My wife, Myong, handles the sewing floor while I handle the graphics, but the apparel manufacturing business is under her control since I don’t know how to sew. With all of this under one roof, you could say that a band could come here and record a demo and have stage costumes and band logo T-shirts made, but right now, I want to stay on topic with music production.
I love the abilities of the digital audio workstation, and I generally leave it set up because You have a song bussing in your head; it won’t go away, so you sit at the piano and start playing. Then, you get up, set up the recording equipment, and return to the piano. You have forgotten most of the song. I hope that does not happen to you. When you come here, you might be amazed at what can be done in a studio today, much more than what could be done ten years ago. Thank you for taking the time to read this. ~ Joe Tillery joetillery@icloud.com. 443-415-0631
